Good afternoon Capsuleers and Seasons Greetings from everyone here at CCP Games!

With Operation Frostline in full swing and the Serpentis Corporation taking a firm beating, we thought we’d continue the holiday cheer and give a little update as to some of the other items that will be making appearances across across New Eden through December and into January 2016.

Firstly, the always popular stacks of snowballs and festival launchers will return to your hangars this holiday season, along with fireworks of various colors to help you celebrate the arrival of the new year (or distract a hostile pilot with pretty lights and flashing colors long enough to make a daring and heroic escape).

There will be two drops of Snowballs, Fireworks and Festival Launchers over the course of the holiday period. These will occur once for each active EVE Online account on the dates listed, and with the following items being deposited into your account’s redeeming system:

December 24th, 2015:

  • 2x Festival Launcher
  • 200x Snowball
  • 1x Women’s ‘Rocket’ Dress (festive)
  • 1x Men’s ‘Curate’ Coat (festive)

December 30th, 2015:

  • 2x Festival Launcher
  • 200x Barium Firework
  • 200x Copper Firework
  • 200x Sodium Firework

If you’re new to EVE, or are unsure how to redeem these items in character selection, then feel free to take a look at this article written by our friendly GM Team on the Customer Support Help Center for more information.

In addition to this, Soduim Fireworks and snowballs have been seeded into the Operation Frostline loot drops as of downtime today, and are also available in the New Eden Store in the following batches, in case pilots would like to pick up even more of them:

  • AUR 50 – 100x Snowball
  • AUR 50 – 100x Barium Firework
  • AUR 50 – 100x Copper Firework
  • AUR 50 – 100x Sodium Firework

Christmas Collectibles!

It’s been an interesting year for New Eden and what better way to commemorate it with a set of collectibles trinkets that have a little fun with both player and non-player backstory.

Trinket1 Trinket2

On December 24th, each active EVE Online account will also receive a set of 20 collectible special edition commodities that poke a little fun at some of the adventures and mishaps that have occured over the course of the last year. These will also appear in your redeeming system on character selection.

And Finally…

Come join us at the Annual Luminaire Snowball fight, hosted by Commander A9 on December 20th at 21:00 EVE Time, where there’ll be a few CCPers ready to have some fun with snowballs and fireworks. You can find out more about the snowball fight, the light shows and the planned secret Santa event by heading on over tothis forum thread.

There’ll be more information next week on additional Holiday offers, as well as another blog from Team Murder Services. Until then, we’ve got pirates to hunt down…

EVE Community Supports Slain Capsuleer’s Family

Eve online is a very competitive game. It is hard to learn, requires a lot of time invested, and is taken very seriously as a result. There’s yelling, screaming, trolling in local, little wars, big wars and everything in between. What we sometimes forget is that there is another player on the other side of your monitor.

On December 2, 2015 we lost one of those people. Robert Adams (a.k.a. photon torpedo) was taken from us during the San Bernardino Shooting. The shooting took place during a training event and holiday party for San Bernardino County Department of Public Health when a married couple open fired into the crowd using semiautomatic weapons. Tragically, Robert was among the 14 people who were killed that day.

Described as a family man, there was nothing Robert loved more than his wife Summer and his newborn daughter Savannah. It is nothing short of a tragedy that this loving father was torn from his family in such a senseless attack. And that thought alone is rallying the community within Eve online. Except this time it doesn’t matter what side you’re on, it doesn’t matter who you’re at war with, doesn’t matter what alliance you are in or what Corp. you’ve played with. What matters now is the person on the other side of the monitor. That person who can’t have fun anymore and the family he was forced to leave behind.

An outpouring of support from the EVE Online community can be seen on Reddit, TMC, EveSkunk and many other sites. Most prominently, a GoFundMe campaign was started to assist his remaining family. We encourage all of our readers to support them in whatever way you can. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Robert’s friends and family, both online and offline. You may be gone but your memory will live on forever.

The Mittani Media Kicks Off Fountain War Book

There was a time where gaming media around the world stopped what they were doing and wrote about a massive battle that took place. A battle that involved thousands of people, fighting in an all out brawl for a full day without pause. The twist though, is that they were writing about a battle that took place in the virtual world of Eve Online. The battle of 6VDT was the climactic final chapter of a massive campaign known as The Fountain War. But as all Eve players know, there is a lot more that goes on behind the scenes of massive fights like this.

The Mittani Media is teaming up with CCP Games, developers of Eve Online, and bestselling author Jeff Edwards to write a novel that tells the true story of “The Fountain War”.

The book promises to be a true retelling of the events that took place leading up to the battle of 6VDT. From political intrigue to first hand accounts of the vicious battles, you can expect “a gut-wrenching thriller” that is “a truly original and powerful work of sci-fi non-fiction.”

To take on this epic challenge, The Mittani Media has chosen Jeff Edwards, a retired Chief Petty Officer and Anti-Submarine Specialist in the U.S Navy. Since then he has become an award winning novelist who brings “an experience-based edge of authenticity to his writing” to the genre of navy thrillers.

And if that’s not enough, The Mittani Media and Jeff Edwards are looking to hear from you:

“We want to read about your adventures, your tales of heroism and villainy from the Fountain War era. Send Jeff your true stories to and you may soon discover your character brought to life in the most collaborative creative project in the history of the game.”
